Thursday: iPad Yoga in my living room.
Friday & Saturday: Rest days. I don't know if it was too much birthday celebrating or just the weather changing, but I was not feeling 100%.
Sunday: 16 miles up the west side highway. This is the first time I've made it to the Little Red Lighthouse!
This run was far from perfect. I was still not feeling well so I didn't eat anything beforehand and I couldn't stomach the GU I brought with me. I stopped and bought a Sunny D, thinking the sugar would help, but a mile or two later I was close to vomiting. I probably shouldn't have gone running at all, but I really didn't want to skip another long run.
Total: 25 miles, 1 spin class, 1 yoga session
I'm starting to get nervous about the marathon. It's getting really close! I feel like I've been under the weather a majority of this training cycle so I need to really take care of myself the next few weeks. I want to be able to cross the finish line strong and healthy!

TIME: ugh, too slow
WHERE? East River
HOW'D IT GO? Why are my legs still dead?!? They feel heavy and sore and I don't know how to fix it. It was a gorgeous day and I still had to force myself out the door at lunchtime to get in a few miles. Days like today make me hate running.
This week was kind of a disaster. My legs were sore the first part of the week and then I was just too busy and distracted towards the end of the week. I'm disappointed with myself for falling off my plan so badly this week but I'm trying not to let it bother me too much. Life is about creating memories and at the end of the day, I'm going to remember the amazing time I had at a Yankees game with friends or at Oysterfesf, rather than the miles I spent alone in the park.
Monday & Tuesday: Rest. My legs were shot after 18 miles in Central Park on Sunday.
Wednesday: 4 miles
Thursday: Yoga. Every week I say I'm going to find a new studio and every week I go back to the same class that I hate.
Friday: 9 miles in Central Park
Saturday: Unintentional rest day. I meant to do a 5 mile run, but I started cleaning the apartment in the morning and all of a sudden it was the afternoon and time to meet friends.
Sunday: Another unintentional rest day – oops! I had 12 miles on my schedule and was about to head out the door when a friend called to offer me a ticket to the Yankees game. I had to say yes!
Total: 13 miles & 1 yoga class

Monday – 4 miles
Tuesday – rest
Wednesday – 8 miles. I had 15 on my schedule but that just wasn't going to happen. Worked too late and I just didn't have the time or energy to keep going.
Thursday – 4 miles
Friday – yoga
Saturday – NYRR Autism Speaks 4 miler. I PR-ed by over a minute! I know I'm still super, super slow but it's nice to see an improvement.
Sunday – post Atlantic City death. I laid on the couch all day and prayed for the hangover gods to just kill me off.
Total – 20 miles, 1 yoga session, 1 horrible hangover

Saturday – another hangover. This needs to stop happening.
Sunday – 18 mile tune-up in Central Park on zero food or energy because I was so sick the day prior. I'm bad at life.
Total – 29 miles, 1 yoga session
Things I learned in the past two weeks:
- I cannot handle booze. I rarely go out anymore but when I do I am SO SICK the next day…..like head pounding/so dehydrated/hurts to be alive kind of sick. I think I need to quit drinking until the marathon is over.
- People take their clif shot bloks out of the plastic wrapper and wrap each blok in tinfoil? I saw a girl doing this on the subway on the way to race and it blew my mind.
- My stomach does not like Gatorade. I had to stop THREE times during my 18 miler. Enough said.
- I need new shoes. My feet and knees hurt while I'm running, so I'm thinking that's the cause.
Monday: 3 miles along the East River
Tuesday: 5.5 miles in Central Park
Thursday: Yoga in the living room. I REALLY want to be one of those people that love yoga, I just can't seem to make it happen.
Friday: 14.5 miles around Manhattan. So hot and humid but I'm proud of myself for going out and getting it done.
Saturday & Sunday: drinking/adventuring/long-weekend-ing. I still can't figure out how to add exercise to my weekend plans.
Total: 3 days of running(23 miles) and one yoga session. Not bad considering I was kind of sick in the middle of the week.
MILES ACTUALLY RUN: 5.5 miles
WHERE: to Central Park and around the Bridle Path
HOW’D IT FEEL? I feel defeated. Why is running 5 miles just as hard as running 15 for me? Shouldn't this be getting easier at some point?
MILES ACTUALLY RUN: 3.5 miles
WHERE: to the end of LBI and back, through Beach Haven and Holgate
HOW’D IT FEEL? This run hurt my heart. There is still so much devastation left from Hurricane Sandy. I've been summering at LBI for over 25 years and my heart was breaking to see the houses of family, friends, and neighbors completely trashed.
