NYCM Training: 5 Weeks To Go


Monday: 5 miles

Tuesday: 4 miles

Wednesday: First time at FlyWheel!

Thursday: iPad Yoga in my living room.

Friday & Saturday: Rest days. I don't know if it was too much birthday celebrating or just the weather changing, but I was not feeling 100%.

Sunday: 16 miles up the west side highway. This is the first time I've made it to the Little Red Lighthouse!

This run was far from perfect. I was still not feeling well so I didn't eat anything beforehand and I couldn't stomach the GU I brought with me. I stopped and bought a Sunny D, thinking the sugar would help, but a mile or two later I was close to vomiting. I probably shouldn't have gone running at all, but I really didn't want to skip another long run.

Total: 25 miles, 1 spin class, 1 yoga session

I'm starting to get nervous about the marathon. It's getting really close! I feel like I've been under the weather a majority of this training cycle so I need to really take care of myself the next few weeks. I want to be able to cross the finish line strong and healthy!

October Goals

1. Five salads a week. I eat [at least] 35 meals a week – there's no reason five of those can't be salads. It's an easy way to get in my veggies for the day.

2. Foam roll every day. I loathe foam rolling but it always makes me feel so much better so I have to do it. Even five minutes is better than nothing!

3. Limit sweets and treats. Stop going overboard on sweets. I don't need to eat cupcakes/candy/ice cream/chocolate everyday.

4. Go apple picking. Just sounds like a fun fall activity!

5. Try bike commuting. I'm a little nervous about biking in NYC but taking the subway can be so unpleasant.

6. Finish a half marathon. Hopefully that will happen this coming weekend!
